What is Safeterm Excel Add-in?

SafeTerm is a tool developed by ClinBAY which uses AI to help encode reported terms into the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA). The tool is available through our Excel add-in, allowing users to bulk encode terms in an efficient manner.

SafeTerm automates the initial MedDRA coding process by using sophisticated algorithms to efficiently match medical terms with the appropriate MedDRA codes. This significantly speeds up the coding process and reduces the manual workload, saving time, reducing customer costs and improving efficiency.

View/filter important log messages instantaneously

The important messages are listed on the right and can be filtered by type.

Grouping log messages

Messages can be easily grouped together. This is ideal when using a master SAS® program calling several programs (e.g. to create analysis datasets).

Customize

The list of log lines to display on the right panel can be customized in the app settings. The application can also be set as a default program to open .log files.

Extract SAS® code from the log

With the use of the SAS® option MPRINT you can automatically extract the SAS® code from the log and create stand-alone SAS® programs.

This can be very useful to generate SAS® programs to share with third part that do not use internal macros. The code and also be adapted automatically for execution on Windows or Unix platform.

To use the SafeTerm add-in, ensure you have a Microsoft account and one of the following versions of Excel:

Download SafeTerm Excel Add-in

Download the add-in from the Microsoft AppSource Store, or alternatively from within Excel from the Add-ins section. Launch the add-in when ready, and input your license key within the add-in settings.
